•Due to a case of coal backlogs at the Port of Qinhuangdao, declining thermal coal demand, and sliding coal prices, coal mines in the city of Yulin in Shaanxi province have halted production.
•According to incomplete statistics from the local government, more than 100 coal enterprises in Yulin have stopped production.
